BREATHCORE_LIVE is a choir that explores modes of collectivity through the practice of breathing. Performers let their breath resonate, creating fields of blurred respiratory noisescapes. Their individual breath signatures interact—barely detectable—forming an atmosphere of diluted presences.
BREATHCORES have no conductor or score and vary in both format and form. Each public moment is preceded by a preparatory workshop lasting approximately 3–5 days. Group size is flexible and can range from 10 to 100 participants.
The project is open to all—no stage experience or special qualifications are required.
The workshop places special focus on breathing exercises drawn from various cultures and traditions (such as Pranayama, Qigong, martial arts, Meditation, etc.), and combines them with listening practices, synchronization exercises, and dialogue.
During the public showing, performers infiltrate the audience, transforming the space into a single breathing body where breath sources become undetectable and the boundaries between public and performer dissolve.
Each public moment of BREATHCORE is a unique, momentary snapshot of the group’s collective qualities.
